Since meeting, and becoming friends with, an autistic boy in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2001, I have become quite interested in the Autism Spectrum Disorder. As a “computer nerd” I feel kinship with autistic individuals, and in many ways feel that I possess minor-league versions of many of the traits consistent with the diagnosis (although I’m not so pretentious as to diagose myself as mildly autistic :-) ). Since this is a topic I am interested in, I often found myself sending articles about Autism to friends and collegues who share my interest. It got to the point where it seemed easier to just post information I came across to a website instead of e-mailing a growing list of individuals. I work on <a href="http://champaign.no-ip.org">customized educational software</a> for children with special needs (specifically autism).
